All About Dave




Allow me to introduce myself, I am Dave of Friends of Dave Tours. I'm an American who has been living in Germany for over 10 years whose passion is traveling, history, and discovering the world.  I live half the year in a fairy tale village called Braunfels, about an hour northeast of Frankfurt and the other half of the year in the beautiful beach-side resort town of Warnemünde.

Before coming to Germany in 1999, I spent many years working in the cruise industry as both an agent and a cruise line manager. I was also lucky enough to have spent my teen years working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl where I grew up. Here in Germany I founded a corporate training service and for 10 years have taught English communication skills to executives at companies such as Lufthansa, Deutsche Bank, IKEA, Groß & Partner, and many other international firms.

Luckily, over the years I have been able to indulge my great passion for traveling and discovering the world and so far I have visited more than 960 cities in 50 countries. Being able to experience other cultures up close and personal has been one of the joys of my life and I am very happy to be able to share my passions with visiting friends.

My traveling style has always been very hands on, yet with an appreciation for taking time out to smell the roses and enjoy what I am seeing and experiencing. That is now very much a part of my touring style! I look forward to spending the day with you in Germany and not only sharing its wonders and beauty, but getting to know you and making another new friend!
